This Kitchen Petty knife has been hand-forged using high-carbon W2 steel. After forging, the blade was differentially heat-treated to create a hamon. Additionally, the blade was meticulously hand-sanded to 600 grit, resulting in a satin finish and a visible hamon line. The handle is crafted from Birch Burl.
The custom sheath was made from high-quality vegetable-tanned leather with an orange-black camo pattern.
Note: The patina on a high-carbon knife is truly beautiful and unique, much like a snowflake—no two are alike. It's a sign of a well-used, well-loved knife. Over time, the blade will develop a natural patina and darken with use. However, be aware that it may stain if acidic food residue isn't promptly removed. Find care instructions here.
